On the act of Worshipping

"… and as they formed a group to worship the lifeless statue, I could not help but be amused of the scene that had so captivated me. What is with humans to want to have someone to owe all the credit to for all the successes and to put all the blame on when desperate time comes? Aren't we fellow humans enough for that, that we need a completely made up entity, a mere figment of imagination shared by billions across the borders?

I sometimes think that, for them, its just an excuse to have a get together and experience the feeling of having done something productive, even though, naturally speaking, they haven't. I also sometimes wonder if deep down, they all know that all these performative acts are nothing but a freak show, for the freaks and by the freaks. One that has been going on for decades if not centuries now. Its completely pretentious in my opinion, its societal. What one does and how one thinks is greatly influenced by the people they meet regularly, of course that's obviously true but what's really peculiar is the fact that such thinking in which one has been subconsciously trained in often overcomes any form of rational thinking based on logic and the ability to reason. Immersed in such acts and such practices, surrounded by conformists who have nothing to say but nod their heads as they let their voice of reason die down, one loses the ability to think, to remove all the baises, all the prejudiced gimmicks, all the preconceived notions and to think purely on the basis of what is in front of them and everyone and what is not, sane people call these things facts."
